The primary objective of this project was to create an impactful online presence for the clinic that addressed the urgency of launching in tandem with its opening, especially during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. This project is the shape most urgent care work takes: a clinic with an opening date that will not move, needing a site that books appointments from day one. The questions below are the ones clinic operators ask us before starting.
Less than most agencies propose. A walk-in clinic is chosen on three things — whether it is open, whether it treats what the patient has, and how quickly they can be seen. Everything on the site either answers one of those or gets in the way.
In practice that means online appointment booking, current hours and wait expectations, a plain list of treated conditions, insurance accepted, and directions that work on a phone held one-handed. For this clinic we also built a dynamic content area so the team could publish COVID-19 changes themselves without waiting on a developer — the same pattern applies to any notice that changes faster than a release cycle.
This one launched against a fixed clinic opening date. We ran it in iterative cycles and shipped the highest-impact features first — appointment booking, treatment information and the updates area — rather than holding the whole site for a single launch. Anything that could follow the opening, followed it.
If your opening date is fixed, that ordering matters more than the technology choice. A site that opens with booking working and half the content still to come beats a complete site that arrives a fortnight after your doors do.
We tested this build for ADA accessibility compliance before deployment. For a US healthcare provider that is not a nice-to-have: accessibility complaints against clinic websites are common, and retrofitting compliance after launch costs considerably more than building to it.
Local search is where urgent care demand actually is, so the build included keyword and competitor research up front and SEO structure implemented during development rather than added afterwards. The clinic saw a 25% increase in online appointment requests and engagement metrics up 30%, alongside improved search rankings.
Worth being straight about the limit: ranking a clinic locally depends heavily on Google Business Profile, reviews and local citations, which are operational work the clinic owns. We build the site to support that; we do not control it.
Clinic sites of this scope are usually fixed-cost, because the scope is genuinely knowable up front — booking, content structure, accessibility, launch. Larger builds with patient portals or practice-management integration move to time-and-materials or a dedicated team. The options are on our engagement models page.
The fastest way to a number is your opening date and whether you need booking integrated with an existing practice system. Those two answers determine most of the estimate. Tell us both and we will come back with scope and cost.
